ABOUT ME

I'm relatively new to this but it appeals to my sense of the unexpected. I love to try to act like a local when visting somewhere abroad, rather than a tourist. I didn't travel abroad till my 30s, i'm trying to make up lost time. I'm a vegetarian and don't smoke, by the way.

I am still new.....and learning how it all works. I am a member of the local Norwich (UK) group.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couchsurfing experience was two nights in Helsnki in October 2008. I really enjoyed this introduction to couch surfing and have recently been couchsurfing in Spain (Madrdid) and Portugal (Porto).

Jazz (Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday), love Astor Piazzola's music for tango, Andrea Bocelli, Katherine Jenkins, Joni Mitchell, Nick Drake, Suzanne Vega, The Who, Roxy Music, Books - currently working my way through Ian Rankin's 'Rebus' and Michael Dibdin's 'Aurelio Zen' series of detective novels, followed by Henning Mankell's 'Wallander' novels; always buying books on many subjects especially photography amd travel; anything that catches my fancy, Betty Carter's singing...architecture, street art, parks...foreign cinema: French new wave, Bergman, Hitchcock, romantic comedies (Serendipity, Amelie, Groundhog Day, When Harry met Sally)...
