ABOUT ME

My family moved often, so I caught the travel-bug early.
I currently live on my sailboat close to Charleston, S.C. I teach Spanish & Art and travel as much as possible! The traveling part is my passion!! I used to travel as a medical professional (midwife), but now I travel to discover and celebrate the many wonders of the planet!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in living consciously, fully alive and aware! Many people seem to be walking in a dream with their eyes, hearts and minds closed! There is so much that is beautiful or unique, fascinating and powerful. I try to be ever-present in my life. I enjoy living and learning!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm a huge fan of the 'Perfect Form of
Education'-TRAVEL~(This is "Living the Lovely Life"!). Fellow travelers and explorers...you have a friend here! I will be happy to show you around. I live in a very historical and beautiful place. Lots of Water!! I have kayaks and bikes you are welcome to borrow. I live on a cool Beach-Island that is fun to explore....or just chill!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well... I only recently learned of the CouchSurfing site through fellow-travelers as I was exploring the planet in Alaska. I met some wonderful people and several of them were experienced Couch-Surfers. I thought, "What a cool idea!" So, I've yet to surf couch-style...but, I am really happy to be part of this!

Outdoor activities such as kayaking, beach-time, walking,swimming, bicycling and sailing. I also enjoy music and art. Good food and good friends go well together! I love to cook. And,I adore reading, dancing...traveling!

I love 'Afro-Portuguese' Music and Angelique Kudjo...Italian love songs...and, well, there is so much great Music!!
I really like the book "First You Have to Row a Little Boat".
I enjoy Barbara Kingsolver, Garcia-Marquez, Amy Tan.
I love Palbo Neruda's Poems.
And I Love the movie: "Moonstruck".. (sorry, I just do!)

I drove a single horse-drawn sleigh through the snow, outside Pushkin, Russia..en route to Peter's Palace. The snow was falling. There was almost no sound. It was like being in a story. It was quite wonderful!

Well, it's true that "We are all students and we are all teachers." While your are here, I will be happy to help you learn about the area. If there is time, we can kayak the water-ways or the ocean. Lots of great flora and fauna to see.
And I'll be interested to hear what you have enjoyed and learned during your travels. I love good conversation.
