ABOUT ME

I worked as a pastry chef through school and have been a server since I could legally have a job. Good people and good food make the world go 'round. There's something about feeding people that just rings my bell.
I'm from a really small town in southern Idaho. I played sports and danced my way into university in Bellingham. I played rugby and was on a couple dance teams there. I also acquired an appreciation for good beer, and great local music and art.

I graduated and headed overseas asap. I've traveled with family and friends quite a bit, and thoroughly enjoy solo trekking. Something about facing the world alone opens one up to experiences and pathways that may otherwise be overlooked. I'm more grateful each day for the life I've been presented. Getting to know about people and learn what we're able to accomplish and overcome together is astonishing and empowering.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is kind of described in my interests. I want to know what I can do and what I can do to help myself and others. The way I learn is to try, and to listen to those who've gone before, and try again. I was raised religiously and learned that exclusion is not a way to progress in life. I encourage uniqueness and support diversity. Open honesty, acceptance, patience, and humor - that's what I aspire for.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am thrilled to be a part of something making such a strong impact on international travel and community possibilities. I have heard such great things about surfing, and the growth that comes from trusting and being trusted. I just look forward to being a contributing member and spreading the word to those who are looking.

Once home, I will be staying with my father on our ranch in the Rocky Mountains. There we have a massive garden and a cabin, it's nothing fancy but it's pure nature up there. Connection with our world is vital and a visit to the mountains does immeasurable good.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed in Switzerland with a lovely host while my friend and I were hitching from Prague down to Nice. It was amazing to see the make up of the city and learn from a new perspective. He made us feel right at home, picked us up in town, we climbed the mountain to his flat, he gave us our own room and we had a great time.

I love baking, cooking, dancing, eating, fishing, rugby playing, laughing, hiking, camping, enjoying a good sip of whiskey or homebrew, sushi making, reading (fiction, non-fiction, fantasy), card games, dominoes, jogging, kayaking, gardening - basically, you name it and I'll try it. I love to learn and grow through challenge and opportunity.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I bought a car for 1euro in Munich at the Oktoberfest and filled it with packers who were up for the ride. She was a 81 Volvo hatchback and I drove that thing on the right side, with right side drive, all the way to Prague - sold it two a couple ex-Marines from Philly and my buddy Jeff and I hitched to Nice. What an amazing example of the universe providing and the generosity of good people.
