ABOUT ME

Hmmm...how to describe us? Well, we met in 2002 when we were volunteering at a summer work camp in the south of Morocco and fell in love almost immediately. After two years of me (Ruth) spending every holiday from Uni visiting Youssef and either travelling round Morocco or just chilling chez Habibi (Youssef's family name but also arabic for "my love" :)) we ended up getting married and Youssef moved to Brighton. We spent most of 2010 travelling around Africa and Asia and moved around a bit after getting back to the uk, but we're now settled in Burgess Hill with our 2 kids born in 2012 and 2019.

Youssef is football mad and has an amazing ability to become friends with everyone he ever meets. I love crafting and baking or a nice country walk. We both love meeting new people and making new friends.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We discovered couch surfing a few years ago. We've hosted a few people and were hosted by some really great people on our big trip in 2010. It's a great opportunity to meet people you would never otherwise get the opportunity to.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've hosted and been hosted, and socialised and travelled with people we've met through CouchSurfing. It really is amazing how many CouchSurfing experiences it's possible to have! We've enjoyed all the ones we've had so far and look forward to the one's to come :D

兴趣

Youssef - I love football( I play with 3 teams and could talk about football all day long!), traveling and meeting new people. I love to find out about other people's beliefs and cultures.
Ruth- I love singing, dancing (I've done ballet, bollywood dancing, and egyptian dancing, and salsa),music (all sorts - especially loving my new ukelele!), food (cooking and eating!) and lots of other things!

Youssef - Don't read much really, and can watch most movies, but my favourites are comedies and history movies. I like all good music, some of my favourite bands are the magnetic fields, the eels and nass el ghiwane (the best moroccan band ever!).
Ruth - I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to movies but can't watch scary films on my own at night! Likewise my music taste is pretty eclectic although I can't really take too much dance music. Loving reading books by Paulo Coelho right now, and for a junk read you can't beat an Anne Rice vampire novel!
