to not eat animals ever again
I am 22 and I am going to India in January, I lived in The US for the first 11 years of my life, then NZ for the next 11 years, now I am heading somewhere else, but I will always come back to New Zealand it is my true home. I am a photographer, I love to garden and plant vegetables. I really love to eat the vegetables I've grown, I love to cook and learn new Vegan recipes. I love to look in my kitchen and see what I've made myself or what my friends have made...hummus, pesto, bread, peanut butter, I love eating these things and not having any plastic wrappers on anything to throw away at the end. I love to better myself, to learn new ways of being energy efficient or more sustainable, I love to eat fruit. I really like walking and biking but I'm still getting fit...I am doing my best not to smoke any cigarettes....I am a writer who doesn't write enough!
A year later... I am back for the summer at least from travelling and am now semi settled in a kind of cold house in the center of town. We have a mattress which can be moved into the lounge for a cser but we also have literal couches too. Our house is kind of cold but it's a cool place to hang out and if it's nice outside we have a sweet urban garden to hang out in.
Another year...am now about to head to Busan, South Korea to teach english for a year. Will travel as much as possible while there. Am looking forward to seeing Korea and big city livin.
Were we ever asked this question in high school? We should've been... Everyone has the right to be who they are freely as long as no one else comes to harm, we have no right to judge others based on race, gender, sexual preference etc, I don't believe we should harvest animals the way we do, I don't believe the world is working the way it is, we need to change our system completely, the way we eat, the way we get around, the way we treat ourselves, our families and strangers...I could say more. I'm almost completly intolerant of intolerance but I'm always keen for a good friendly argument.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am more than happy to offer my home as a roof for somebody else in this big expensive world...it costs too much to live in someone else's city, cheapest can be $20 a night! It's too much...I love showing people that you can eat really excellent meals that don't have any meat or cheese in them and that you can eat this way all the time... I am happy to cook for someone or show them around a bit
I've had lots of good hosting and surfing experiences, hosting is my favorite though.
photography, writing, poetry, drawing, art, walking, biking, eating and cooking, not eating animals, hanging out with my dogs and cats
Music, Movies, and Books
I read constantly, I just finished The Book Thief which was amazing, Also Three Cups of Tea, everyone should read this book, non fiction about a guy who has built heaps of schools in Pakistan (I just found out he was up against Obama for the Nobel Peace Prize, I can't believe Obama got it, this guy is building schools still! in Pakistan and Afghanistan even as the US drones are blowing them up).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A flying lemur with a baby in it's pouch in Bako National Park, Sarawak, Malaysia, also at the same park an ant longer than an inch with big body sections! The Phuket Vegetarian Festival is amazing, self mutilation for some, Vegan food for everyone.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to cook vegan and vegetarian meals that are delicious and low budget, I can teach you how to grow vegetables from seed if it's the right time of year.
