ABOUT ME

I am studying literature and art history, with the hope of going to graduate school after I get this first degree.
I'm an easygoing open-minded person who just wants to meet all types of people and see and learn about the world. I like viewing everything from a different perspective. For the most part, I'm pretty quiet and contemplative.
I used to have a pet bananafish.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfing with and meeting people...telling non-CS members that Couchsurfing is a great opportunity to meet new people and acquaint oneself with a different culture.

Interests

Doing and seeing new things, late nineteenth- and twentieth-century art, walking for the sake of walking, writing, taking silly photos :), learning, painting, thinking, growth, philosophizing over wine (or coffee, or beer), Sierra Prislupsky, traveling, listening to music, drinking good coffee, reading, culture, constantly reminding myself of "der, die, das", spending the day in a museum, struggling with Derrida, getting lost (hopefully with a map)...my favorite thing at the moment is to be introduced to something or someone new. I like trying what other people are interested in.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like novels/short stories by Franz Kafka, Charles Bukowski, J.D. Salinger, Virginia Woolf, Chuck Palahniuk, Dave Eggers, etc. I like art and philosophy books.
I like all types of music: house, brass, classical, rock, jazz, techno, alt., etc. I love hearing songs I've never heard before. I love songs in foreign languages, even if I only understand a word or two :)
A few movies that I like are Orsen Welles' The Trial, Fight Club, Yellow Submarine, etc. I also really like documentaries...and lately Sesamstraße DVDs :)
