About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm going to Europe at the end of this month and I'm visiting Germany, Switzerland, France and Italy.

ABOUT ME

I've been on my own since I was 15 years old. I've lived in a lot of places; Florida, North Carolina, California, Georgia, Germany, Texas, back to Florida, NC, SC and I'm back in NC where I bought my house.
I've worked many jobs from my first at a sawmill, when I was only 12 years old! I've cooked in restaurants, I've been a carpenter, roofer, a soldier in the U.S. Army for 7+ years, a surveyor, a machinist and I've even delivered pizzas.
I've been to school for secure radio communications, weapons maintenance, logistics, motorcycle repair, blueprinting and drafting, welding, metallurgy, and machining.

PHILOSOPHY

Be happy no matter what your doing whether it's your work or your dream. Even better if they are the same.

Be true to yourself so you can be true to others.

You are who you associate with.

Never buy discounted seafood!

Always leave things better than the way you found them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

With all of the places I've lived and traveled I love the idea of meeting new people and making new friends while giving someone a safe, comfortable place to rest.

I've hosted two guests and I am friends with both of them now.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couch surfed Orlando, Stuart and Ocala, Florida, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Montreal was the best, a hammock in a room overlooking the beautiful city life while visiting my hometown friend who is the ultimate couch surfing maniac.

Interests

I really love to cook. I am currently training myself to prepare fusion gourmet, think filet mignon meets Asian, I also like Mexican, Cajun and some traditional Southern, I've even attempted sushi with some amount of success.
I like learning languages, learning new culinary techniques, talking to interesting people, stepping out of my comfort zone and going on new adventures, camping, whitewater rafting, music and laughter is always important.

I also like to teach people how to get better fuel economy, I used to drag race Hondas but now I'm trying to get 60mpg out of my Geo Metro convertible. It was a lot easier to go fast on a gallon of gas than to go far. Wish me luck!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm learning Spanish and Italian by books, cd and the computer. It is coming along slow but I'm learning a little each day. You never know who you might meet in this world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Whitewater rafting down the New and Gauley Rivers was some of the most exciting and beautiful times I've experienced. I spent a summer traveling every weekend to West Virginia training to be a river guide.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can show you how to make some pretty fantastic food, rebuild a car, grow a garden and camp with style.

It costs you nothing to be kind and it pays phenomenally.

Kindness is best received when things are tough, there is little effort in being happy when everything is perfect.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversation and lots of laughs!
