I live with my partner, she is new to couchsurfing, so, I hope to show her the delights and the riches of making connections with like-mindded people.

About me, I'm open to trying to be open-minded as long as that does not involve any open-minded surgery. ;)

I like a laugh, who doesn't ?? But some people have very annoying laughs . . .Do you have a very annoying laugh ? I'd like to hear it ;)

Going out, not going out . . .these are things I enjoy doing or not doing depending on the weather.

I love nature as long as it is well behaved and doesn't bite.
Cities, yeah, sure, lots of interesting people in cities.

But enough about me . . .(well, there'll be more later)

I think there's a lot better things I could be doing with those five minutes, the same goes for you.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far it's been great . . . and I still have yet to venture forth , hosting has been a really great experience - lots of friends and acquaintances made; lots of couches out there waiting to be smurfed by "yours truly".

Interests

I like to meet new people, all the time. Galway is great for that, CS is great for doing that.

All kinds of beauty, from the eye of every beholder. I'd like to see it from another(s) perspective.
From a place I might never have stood if it had not been for meeting that new person.
I will always make that effort, because the rewards always far exceed my efforts and my expectations.

All forms of Art interest me, and just about everything is art, arguably.

Haiku, haiga and all the Japanese forms are some of the forms I like to read and attempt to write.

Photography . . . been getting more and more interested in improving my knowledge.

Painting, recently picked up the hairy sticks to try and remember how . . . I'm not even a novice, but I enjoy it immensely.

Like I said, meeting new people. People from every part of the world.
This is an essential part of life, to break bread and share stories.
In these moments we see the world and ourselves. I'd like to improve my self, more tolerance, understanding and of course laughter.

Music, Movies, and Books

Good movie:

Zeitgeist. I love a good conspiracy theory with a pinch of salt.

"Into The Wild" Coming of age, rebellious, free-spirited youth kinda of movie, book first. Inspirational.

Book......"How to write, read and teach haiku" by William J. Higginson.

The Lovely Bones -

Music....tough to answer, but at the moment,Shannon Wright is the most amazing singer/songwriter working today, Shostakovich, Yann Tiersen , Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, The Black Keys, Marvin Pontiac,Grizzly Bear, Bat for Lashes (guilty pleasure) a little hip hop, house ect..in small doses with large doses :)

But always, The Beatles (John Lennon),Rory Gallagher, The Doors, Led Zep...the usual crew eh ?

I'll listen to classical, and modern, anything with a bit of spirit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Do you know what I think is the most amazing thing....all the possibilities.

Not the things done...the things we are about to do.

Here is to life being an amazing adventure, full of thrills and laughs and exploration, friendship and good will.

I'm not nieve, just a little optimistic, at thirty that's an amazing thing. LOL
