Gary and Marla: Married since the 70s, with two adult kids.

PHILOSOPHY

Like I said before, Gary and I have been together forever, but we are both very different from each other in some ways. I love God, he thinks maybe that He's from another planet. That's all okay. I drive a sensible Subaru, he's got a 1300cc bike. I protested the war in the 60's, he sang "ode to a Green Beret". That's all okay too.

Interests

We're two different people who have been together forever. Gary loves his motorcycle, I love video editing. We both love to cook and meet unusual people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Gary likes anything from metal to 80's music, zydeco and jazz. I like world music, jazz, blues, cajun, country, rock, opera. Pretty much anything but classical Japanese opera. I am a voracious reader, and quite often will have three books on the go at the same time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Talking to singer Joni Mitchell in the middle of a rainforest, in the middle of the night. Getting an impromptu invitation to the Cajun Women Singers Hall of Fame dinner, and for Gary, staying up 'til 6 at a Tapas Bar dancing and carousing with Latinos from all over the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a weekend gourmet only. Where I like to get up and check out the markets, find something interesting and new, and spend the afternoon chopping, stewing, and making the kitchen smell like an Italian, Ukranian, Indian, Mexican or something else's momma's kitchen. Gary's a home inspector, so he's busy checking out houses for safety and longevity for clients.
