ABOUT ME

2009 was a wonderful year of varied and eye-opening experiences in new cultures and with new people, as my then girlfriend and I travelled around the world. We loved the experience of couchsurfing and would like to thank the most excellent people who hosted and shared their homes and beautiful cities with us. Finding out about lesbian culture around the world was very cool and I wish we could have done more of it. There was also mountain climbing, gardening, sheep-herding, writing, bread-baking, camping, tramping, dancing... WWOOFing was another great part of our trip and I will try to upload more photos soon! Now it's time for me to return the favour - I am particularly keen to host lesbians, and girls generally, travelling to Perth.

PHILOSOPHY

Always try to keep on learning - whether through study, engaging and challenging jobs, interesting people, travel, new experiences, personal reading and research, personal crises or those of your friends and family, listening to others speak or watching how others think and act...
Care for your body and mind and appreciate the strong link between the two. I try to keep fit and active and this helps me deal with daily challenges and enjoy life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've returned home from my travels, have a place to live (with drawers! and a fridge! - oh how one appreciates these things after travelling!) and there's room for visitors. My brother shares our 2-bedroom rental house (with a big backyard) and we have a small sleep-out with a fold-out bed which is available. I'm happy to host girls, particularly lesbian girls/couples, but will consider other people, so feel free to get in contact. Two or three nights is usually best. I work full time, often long hours and am usually quite busy with family and general life commitments, but depending on what's going on at the time am happy to give you suggestions on how to explore Perth and certainly go for a drink and a dance at our gay pub, The Court

(We left Australia in January for month in New Zealand spent tramping, volunteering and generally enjoying the wonderful natural environment (shall upload photos soon), then we spent a month travelling through Mexico, Belize and Guatemala (with a month in San Pedro la Laguna, then on to Cuba, Canada (for a month, including catching the train from Vancouver to Toronto), Holland, Helsinki, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, Italy, Spain and home)

Interests

Reading, writing, music (modern, classical), gardening, camping, bush walking, hiking and tramping (especially in Tasmania and New Zealand), watching ballet, doing ballet, spending time with my family, eating pizza on the roof, jogging or walking through Kings Park and seeing the beautiful wildflowers (especially the green and black kangaroo paws), picnicking, babysitting Raajni, the beaches down south, looking after chooks (aka chickens), picking berries, sleeping, forests, good food - cooking it and eating it, good company, raucous conversation, sitting in quiet companionship, drinking cold beer on a summer afternoon on the front steps, watching people walk past...
