ABOUT ME

I've never liked writing bios, it all seems way too vain! I'm in my 20's and hope to do tons of exciting things before I die or am incapacitated. That being said I spend an awful lot of time doing boring things like working, and while I enjoy my job the trouble with the rat race is that even if you win you're still a rat. Hence the need for fun and adventure that prevents me from turning into a boring drone.

Someone once told me that human beings are the only creatures on earth that allow their children to come back home. Not sure whether or not this is true, but I definitely like the idea. One day I want to look back and think that I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Come summer 2009 we will have a spare room, which means a spare room, and surf capability!

Until then I am happy to be a tour guide for the local city hang outs, and do the whole coffee/drink/chat bit.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I came across CouchSurfing quite by accident. Friends of mine were in a bar and met a bunch of cool people who turned out to be CouchSurfers. So the next weekend we all went to another bar to make some awesome new friends. It's been pretty much one party after another since then sprinkled with international visitors. Best serendipitous encounter ever!

Interests

Oodles of things. I play piano (finished grade 10 practical) and once won a bet where I taught someone to read music in under 12 hours. I love to read, I was really into fantasy and science fiction when I was younger and am now starting to appreciate other types of literature - no biographies though, and nothing too realistic. I have recently learned how to knit, but can't do much beyond the basics so far
