ABOUT ME

I have two children, Aisha,( Australia) and Ruairi (Denmark). I travelled and worked abroad (Europe, U.S.A., N.Africa, India,Nepal)a lot in my early twenties, then settled down in Co. Galway, where Aisha and Ruairi grew up.
My interests then were community development, women's issues, development education, fair trade, yoga, dance, permaculture..
Divorced, I moved with Aish and Ru to Omagh, Co.Tyrone to care for my mum who had cancer. Have been here since 1998, teaching yoga, dance with special needs groups, involved in community arts, labyrinth facilitation,Women's Aid, tutoring personal development courses, planning/co-ordinating events for Omagh District Council.
Have spent 6 months in Australia:housesitting in the bush near Nimbin,in an ashram near Melbourne, building a cob temple,wwoofing in Queensland.
8 months in Thailand - completed 60 hrs Thai massage course in Chiang Mai in June, taught yoga and did Tarot readings for 3 months at the Sanctuary, Haad Tien, Koh Phangan. Taught English to kindergarten kids in Mae Sot on Burma/Myanmar border, moved to beautiful Pai for my last month in Thailand. Now back in Omagh..... Member of Omagh Ukulele Orchestra.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Stayed with 2 couchsurfing hosts in Melbourne and met some others. Met 2 hosts in Chiang Mai and stayed with a host in Pai.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was a host and a traveller with SERVAS for many years when my family were young.Travelled with SERVAS in Queensland.
Couchsurfed in Melbourne and Pai, met hosts for dinner in Chiang Mai.

1.gave birth to and raised two amazing human beings, Aisha and Ruairi
2.saw aurora borealis from the Pigeon Top, Oma
3.took part in Sat Chandi Mahayajna in Rikhia,Bihar,India Dec 2007
4.helped build a cob temple in Rocklyn ashram, Victoria, Australia
