关于我
CURRENT MISSION
I am on a mission to create a artist/surfer lifestyle that lasts all year round.
ABOUT ME
I grew up in Alaska. It was an interesting place to grow up in; for sure. There is a truly unique culture up there. A lot of people from Alaska are a little loony. Loony good more than loony bad. You have to be in order to live in such a bizarre and beautiful place. I can't say for sure how loony I am. If you asked some of my friends they'll probably say I'm a little loony. Loony good, that is.
After high school, I went to an art school in Minneapolis, Minnesota called Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD). It was an awesome school and Minneapolis was super cosmopolitan. Going from Alaska to a place like Minneapolis was a bit of a shock, but I grew to really appreciate the urban life.
I graduated from MCAD and decided to go on a winter-long trip to Costa Rica. It was my first time out of the country and it was there where my perspective on life took a dramatic shift. There, I learned how to surf and was instantly hooked. It was more than learning a new sport. I was exposed to a lifestyle wished I had been living my whole life. Surfing exposed me to other cultures through the places I've traveled and from other surfers hailing from all corners of the globe. I feel spiritually, mentally and physically healthier when I am surfing. Ultimately, it is one of the most fulfilling experiences in my life.
Since then, I have been working summers in Alaska while living in Latin American countries in the winter. It has been a fun lifestyle, but the transient nature of it all has its caveats. Now I'm on a mission to make a life on the beach a little more permanent. I'll always love Alaska, but I never really had much in common with it. Especially in the dark and cold winters. Ultimately, I just don't think I'm quite loony enough to make a life for myself up there. Loony good, that is.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe all things are connected through an exchange of energy and matter. That exchange is ever evolving and moving to an ever changing rhythm. I believe the quest for understanding that concept will bring us closer to a more harmonious existence with all things. It's like surfing: if you fear and fight the wave, it will drown you. However, if you respect the wave and understand it's rhythm, then you can ride it effortlessly.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Although I don't have a couch to offer now, I look forward to offering one in the future. One year I was seeing a girl in Mexico who owned a hostel. I loved meeting the different kinds of folks who would pass through. I made a lot of great friends at that hostel and I see the Couch Surfing Project as an other opportunity to do the same.
In the meantime, I want to start surfing couches and meet some of the folks and their couches who are participating in the CS2 project.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Once in Costa Rica a lovely family took a companion and myself in when we couldn't find a single hotel or hostel with a vacancy. They treated us so kindly and even invited us to a wedding for one of their family members. The wedding was a blast and I still talk to the family to this day.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情
In the winter of 2008 I went on a 26 day rafting expedition through the Grand Canyon. That was where I realized how alive all things inanimate or otherwise truly are. It was a once in a lifetime experience that everyone should have. For sure.
教,学,和分享
I have a pretty good understanding of the creative process and can offer input, especially, in visual media.
One thing I need to learn is how to dance. Like surfing, I think dancing is another metaphor for understanding the exchange and rhythm thing I described in the prior "Personal Philosophy" section. Plus, chicks dig it.
