ABOUT ME

Alllllright! I am a super busy gal who is into hippie-type things but in a hurried kind of way. I don't like wasting any time, but feel that relaxation is not to be overlooked. (Wasted time to me is time that is NOT spent doing bikram yoga, mountain, road, or cx cycling, walking my dog logan, practicing music, writing music, performing, working, watching movies like serial mom, running, exploring.) I sorta kinda like traveling but I get burnt out on being away from home all the time. I play tenor sax in a no-wave band called the Pussy Pirates and we travel quite a bit, mostly to places in the midwest, but sometimes east coast/south. We will not be going back to the west coast for a while.

I am not exactly sure why I am here, but I'm sure it has something to do bicycles...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I heard about couchsurfing formally from an acquaintance and the idea intrigues me. The idea of an open-door, pick up and go, hostel-type, somewhat organized traveling community restores my faith in western culture. I am constantly hosting touring bands (mostly unsigned, DIY type) at my house, which we call the Pussy Palace, as 3 pussy pirate members live there. As a member of a 5 piece band I understand how it can be sometimes difficult to find housing for a group of that size, so I am definately willing to house a group so long as my house/mates are accommodating.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never gone on a solo couch surfing/traveling adventure, although I am planning on a Appalachian mtn bike/hike wif the dog trip as soon as I have 3 consecutive days off. I have done quite a bit o 'informal' couch surfing in the last 4 years with da band. We play almost every weekend, and have never ONCE stayed in a hotel. Sometimes we know a member in a home-town band that will house us, other times we completely wing it and hope there is a friendly door guy with some floor space for 5 peeps...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I "did" Switzerland. Awesomeness all around, except for how expensive everything seems there. I've also done the Dew, not impressed.

I can teach you how to make the best honey mustard brussels sprouts in the world, as well as a killer Thai green curry. If you would like a lesson in cyclocross mounting/dismounting I am totally down!
