ABOUT ME

I enjoy reading and hanging out with friends. In spite of this interest I would label myself an extrovert. I like being around people, hiking, drinking, watching a movie, whatever. I have a wanderlust that can't be sated.

PHILOSOPHY

I think I'm still looking for some transcending reason to all of life, but my own personal reason is to experience as much as I can in this short life instead of falling into some pre-destined routine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I'm going to Europe again this summer and want to travel around more than I have before, but don't have the money to even stay in hostels throughout the trip. I also would like to show visitors my city and friends in California.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I visited my friend who was studying abroad in Germany and I met her guest-family. Knowing a little German I spoke with my friend's guest-mother and she took a liking to me and made me my favorite German dish. She is a wonderful and beautiful person, and I'm glad I met her.

Interests

I like movies, theater, books, hiking, camping, beer, going to the beach, and going on random drives.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the Lord of the Rings films, I think they're epic. Little Miss Sunshine, Braveheart, Death at a Funeral, Garden State, Black Hawk Down, Remember the Titans, The Truman Show, Superbad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and many more.

I really enjoy reading Ayn Rand (The Fountainhead, Anthem, Atlas Shrugged). I am enthralled by Utopia by Sir Thomas More, Erewhon by Samuel Butler, 1984 by George Orwell, We by Evgeny Zamyatin, and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. Jack Kerouac also speaks to me.

Music? Just about anything, but I'm mostly into Rock. Blink 182, Nirvana, The Shins, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Mando Diao and others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Performed at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. I hadn't really thought of traveling to Scotland before then, but now it is easily one of my favorite locations. I hiked up King Arthur's Seat, experienced real Scotch, and met a few friends I'm still in contact with.
