About Me

Hi, I’m Sultan, Toronto-based, curious by nature, and always collecting stories worth keeping.

I love culture, design, food, and cities with personality. Couchsurfing intrigues me because it turns a destination into something more meaningful: connection, community, and shared experience.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because the world needs more community and less transactional energy. This platform restores my faith in people and I’m here to contribute to that vibe (not disrupt it).

Interests

I’m drawn to experiences with texture: beautiful spaces, good design, thoughtful food, live music, theatre, and cities that carry history and soul.

I love cultural exchange and community-driven travel, the kind that feels human, grounded, and memorable.

Add chai, pastries, and meaningful conversation, and I’m in my element.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC

I’m a house music person at heart (always), but I’ll listen to anything with good energy, global sounds, pop, and the occasional throwback that makes a city night feel cinematic.

MOVIES and TV:

I have range 😌 I love a good chic flick and anything escapist and glossy (yes, Emily in Paris), but I’m also into darker, gritty shows like MobLand and Landman. Basically: give me either glamour or plot.

BOOKS

I’m into books that entertain and make me feel smarter so think novels like Crazy Rich Asians as well as anything introspective and reflective that expands how I think (culture, psychology, personal growth).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I volunteered for a sailing program in the Bahamas that partnered with a local youth-serving organization.

We supported youth in care who were orphaned through swimming instruction, ocean safety, and confidence-building activities, truly unforgettable.

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACH

Toronto insider recommendations + how to create content that actually hits (Reels, storytelling, visuals, captions, creative direction). If you’re a small biz owner or creative, I’m happy to share marketing and public relations tips.

LEARN

Local life, culture, and what makes your city yours. I’m especially into food culture, arts, design, and community spaces and I’ll happily learn a few words in your language.

SHARE

A great playlist, better conversation, and respectful guest energy. I’m warm, independent, and easy to host, with a little humour (the mindful and friendly kind).

What I Can Share with Hosts

I bring thoughtful guest energy: warm, respectful, socially aware, and genuinely easy to host.

I love the community side of Couchsurfing: sharing stories, humour, and perspective, and creating those small moments of connection that make travel feel less transactional and more memorable.

If it feels natural, I’m also happy to share practical value: content creation ideas, caption help, or a bit of creative direction with marketing, public relations, writing, etc.
