ABOUT ME

Finished with my degree in German, now just finishing out my semester in Germany, enjoying the culture as best I can. I'm a mix of a homemaker and a traveler; I love cooking and grocery shopping but can't stay put in one place for too long. I've always loved learning languages and discovering how other people see the world. I believe that patience and a good sense of humor can solve most of life's problems. Those that know me best know that my true hair color is blue, not brown. :>

I have a wonderful daughter who is turning out to be sassier and more adventuresome that her mom or her dad. Looks like I'm going to be in big trouble in the next decade or two. ;>

PHILOSOPHY

If you live your life in an attempt to please someone else you'll end up disappointing everyone in the end. Be yourself, be honest-it requires less memory :>; and if you really want to do something you can make it happen, one way or another.

I couch surfed for the first time in May in Morocco. I look forward to hosting when I get back to the states and of course, surfing more.

Interests

Learning new languages, travel, adventure, parenting, dancing, reading, running after trains and busses, getting lost, friendships that transcend language, baking bread, gardening, watching Harry Potter auf Deutsch, snarking bad movies, weight lifting, butchering German prepositions and sentence structures.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Studying abroad in Germany for a year, something I've always dreamed of doing. Almost hit by a bus...twice...in Marrakech. Attempted parkour on the ruins of Volubilis. Climbed the Münster in Ulm, in the rain/sleet/snow/horrific wind in which walking up the numerous stairs turned into climbing up the stairs on all fours.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to make Spätzle, a traditional Schwäbisch dish. Or maybe some knock knock jokes. Or all about Kafka, which will immediately make you the life of any party. ;> I can also answer any questions you might have about going to Uni full-time while being a parent.
