ABOUT ME

I was homeschooled through high school. For the first half of my twenties I pursued music professionally, living in the tiny, unique town of Crestone, Colorado. When I decided the music industry wasn't for me, I moved to Boulder and earned a two-year degree in mathematics, tutoring privately and working at Boulder Arts and Crafts Gallery (one of the oldest art cooperatives in the country). Currently, I'm pursuing a BFA in Creative Nonfiction from Goddard College. I love climbing, hiking, good food and warm-hearted conversation. A sense of community is hugely important to me.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm a conscientious, mature surfer: I communicate consistently, arrive when I say I will and am clean and unobtrusive. I like to think of myself as socially engaged but also respectful of my hosts' social limits.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent 2009 surfing in Denver and Boulder while gigging with my sister, and most of these people I became good friends with. In 2010, I surfed for a month in Portland, Seattle and Austin. I've also hosted some wonderful people. I'm a conscientious surfer who is respectful of her hosts' time and social constraints.

Interessen

Writing and reading, particularly contemplative nonfiction and memoir; rock climbing; cooking good food for people I love; math, though I'm becoming more rusty by the day; photography, though I lean more on the appreciative side than the skilled side; hiking and wandering in the woods; and finally, community and communication in various forms.

When I'm in a leadership role, I'm known for kindness, patience, and compassion--I'm the one willing to wait with the "slow" kid. When it comes to my own endeavors, I'm still working on the self-compassion piece!
