CURRENT MISSION
Getting to Pittsburgh...
ABOUT ME
I would describe myself as serene and open-minded, eager for any good stuff that stimulates my mind. My girlfriend Marta, philosophy, music, traveling, Italy, good food are indispensable.
Right now, I'm starting a four-months research stay in Pittsburgh. In that time, I should get along a lot with my thesis, but also get to know as much as possible of American culture and life - it's my first time to the U.S., and I'm very curious...

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite non-academic writers in these days have been Dante, Andrea Camilleri (Commissario Montalbano novels), Robert Harris (Ghost), Le Carré.
I enthusiastically listen to/attend performances of ALL kinds of classical music, from medieval music to the toughest strands of contemporary music; I also like many kinds of rock and pop.
Movie-wise, my heroes are Hitchcock, Eisenstein, and the Italian neo-realists, but I'm pretty open to anything apart from most block-busters.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Taught and lived, speaking Latin, together with some wonderful people at Luigi Miraglia's academy in Montella, Campany.
Teach, Learn, Share
Italian cooking, with a focus on regional styles (esp. Ligury, Tuscany, Sicily, Lombardy, Veneto). I love to cook for my friends and to share recipes, techniques and stories.
