Overview
About Me
I'm a person who believes life is too short and there's no time to waste, so I try to enjoy it every single day, every single and simple sunrise, cup of tea, book or bicycle ride.
I love to learn new things and enjoy reading about tech, science, philosophy, art and history.
About three years ago I get bored about being graphic designer because I get tired of being alone behind my computer when I am such an extroverted kind of person, so I decided to learn how to make really good bread and pizza because I love to cook and the idea of put so much love and effort in a plate that you are going to share with other people means a lot for me. Now I'm working hard to open a little bistro in Mexico City where I can make new friends and be more involved with my community.
I'm also involved in spiritual growing so I try to meditate every morning and to be kind with people and help whenever I can.
Friends and family are my most beloved treasures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I really believe in the power of community and sharing, in the human kindness and generosity, I also think travel experiences are far more rich and pleasant when you have the opportunity to be in contact with local people.
Music, Movies, and Books
I LOVE MUSIC, almost everything, from classical to electronic and everything in between. From Bach to Ryuichi Sakamoto and Moderat.
I love Jazz, I'm a big fan of Thelonius Monk and I'm a great admirer of african american musicians and singers like Billie Holiday and Nina Simone. I also love tango, flamenco, Cardenche (an special kind of chant that has their origins in the mountains of Mexico) and almost every manifestation of the human sensibility.
I even tried to learn to play the piano but I don't really have the time and discipline needed for that, so I'm comfortable with being just part of the audience.
Fav directors: Aki Kaurismäki, Woody Allen, Almodovar, Jim Jarmusch, Scorsese, Kubrick, Doris Dörrie, Park Chang Wok, Iñarritu, Wes Anderson and Monty Python.
Fav movies: Dersu Uzala, Cherry Blossoms, Only Lovers Left Alive, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Leningrad Cowboys, A man without a past, Children of Men, Fight Club, Monty Python's The Meaning of Life and many many others.
I also love documentaries about science, biology, technology, politics, history and music, I recently watched 13th (about mass incarceration on the US) How to Grow a Planet, The Internet's Own Boy: The Story of Aaron Swartz and Deep Web.
Books: recently read "Inventing the AIDS virus" by Peter Duesberg and Now I'm reading essays from Ivan Illich.
