Overview
About Me
I’m Fernanda, born and raised in Mexico, an anthropologist by training and a curious traveler by heart. I love wandering around cities, finding those little corners that only locals know about, and getting lost on purpose just to see where life takes me. I can be the kind of person who dives into deep philosophical conversations at midnight… but also the one who laughs at silly jokes for way too long. I enjoy books, music, and stories that make you see the world differently. I believe every person has a universe inside them, and I’m always eager to discover new ones.
I love everything that has anything related with art: movies, books, music, dance, etc. But I am also curious about everything else in the world. I love learning new things and doing things that are different from anything I've ever done before. I love meeting people and getting my mind shaken by different perspectives of the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because hotels don’t tell you anything about a place—people do. For me, it's about sharing time, culture, and a few laughs with people who see life from different perspectives. I love the idea of arriving in a city and, instead of following a travel guide, learning about it through the eyes of someone who actually lives there. Also… let’s be honest: some of the best travel stories come from unexpected moments with strangers who quickly turn into friends.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite Books are "Ana Karenina" and "las batallas en el desierto". My favorite movie directors are Woody Allen, Almodóvar and Luis Buñuel. I listen to all kinds of music, but I don't know every artist on every genre.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think everything I've done is amazing. I know that doesn't sound very modest, but I believe that everything I've live so far has made me who I am and therefore qualifies as amazing (even if it may no seem that amazing to everyone else).
Teach, Learn, Share
I still don't know enough about the world so I think I would be better at learning than teaching. But I am open to share my thoughts to anyone who would like to hear and hope they find something useful in them.
I can teach you some Spanish phrases (useful ones, not just “hola” and “cerveza” 😂), show you how to cook a simple Mexican dish, or share stories about life, culture, and history in Mexico. I’d love to learn about your city, your favorite hidden places, and maybe even a recipe from your family. I’m also curious about music, so if you have local songs or bands to recommend, I’ll be the happiest guest. Basically: let’s exchange knowledge, food, playlists, and laughs.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good company, genuine curiosity, and maybe a homemade guacamole if we find the right avocados. I can share stories from my travels, funny cultural misunderstandings (I have plenty), and lots of enthusiasm to explore together. I’m also respectful, easy-going, and independent—so whether you want to hang out a lot or just a little, I’ll fit in. And if you’re ever in Mexico, I’ll make sure to return the favor with open arms and tacos.
