About Me

I'm a relaxed and easy going girl who can be ridiculously indecisive at some times and spontaneous at others.

I live with my husband Andy (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/andybiff), and our dog Fritz.

We moved back to Dunedin almost a year ago and we love our little city! If we have time we'd love to show you around. If not we can give you some tips.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have had a few couch surfing experiences now and it has been great! I like hosting and showing people around my town and also enjoy getting the local knowledge when staying with other couch surfers! Great way to see the world and meet awesome people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted a few people, surfed with a few more people and intend to both host and surf more.

Interests

I love learning about other people - hearing their stories and photographing people and places.

Photography, reading, animals, Oma bicycles. Trying to be less wasteful, second hand shopping and markets. I really enjoy music and going to gigs. Card games and board games are great.

Travelling, reading, hiking, trying to make things, cooking, languages, learning, looking, hanging out with animals.

I also love to explore abandoned places , there's something fascinating about places that have left to become derelict, where the memory of people, dreams, or horror exists, but the physical structures are slowly being reclaimed by nature and decay. If you know of any such places we can explore together I would be very very very keen to do so!

Music, Movies, and Books

So many bands.... let's see... the Beatles, Radiohead, Neko Case, Wilco, Nick Cave, Spoon, Villagers, Vulfpeck, Darren Hanlon, lots of local bands too that you won't have heard of but I can introduce you to!

Some movies I like are Todo sobre mi madre, Volver, Fantastic Mr Fox, Up, Noi the Albino, Amelie, Goodbye Lenin, Cemetery Junction.

I also LOVE watching nature documentaries because I am secretly a nerd. David Attenborough is my hero.

Books: Gabriel Garcia Marquez books, A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, Cuentos de la Selva by Horacio Quiroga, short stories by Murakami.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't think I have personally achieved anything amazing... but hopefully one day I can contribute to something :)

I've travelled quite a bit and met lots of great people, seen lots of lovely things, and some not so lovely.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to play keezen, it´s probably the best game ever.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am happy to cook you a meal, share some stories and take your picture :D
