About Me
Hi 👋🏻
I am Matan, living in Tel Aviv, originally from northern Israel. Like so many of the people in Tel Aviv I am too a software engineer by profession 😅
I used to have an account I've shared as a couple but since we split I created my own. You can check out more references there: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/hilashmuel
I really enjoy traveling and especially meeting new people from different cultures and backgrounds, listening to their stories, tasting their food and learning about their culture and way of life. I just got back not too long ago from a traveling break of 1 year, doing the van life in the US & Canada for 6 months and then explored Asia after getting invited to a wedding in Mumbai by a friend I met on couchsurfing!
These kind of things is why I really enjoy hosting and being hosted on this platform! 😁😁🤩

Music, Movies, and Books
I really don't have specific names. It also can be very eclectic and I tend to explore music & movies from places I've been. Like in April 2023 I've been to South Korea and just got hooked to K-pop or when I travelled the rural areas I've really gotten into Country music 😅
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I travelled with a friend in the Philippines in 2017, she broke her leg on a tiny remote island called Apo island but we continued traveling while I was doing the Hodor and carrying her on my back until we were able to rent a wheel chair and then pushing her over 10km a day which I think she actually ended up enjoying that 🤣
Teach, Learn, Share
The best foods to try in the city. Wether you want upscale, the famous street foods or the not so known street foods I've got you covered!
Also obviously if someone wants to know more about the history of Israel and Jewish people, learn Hebrew or just get the current day culture & politics.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Recommendations for out the beaten path in Israel and in general for the places I've been. Cook them Israeli food. I'm always willing to have deep talks and listen. And countless funny stories from traveling :)
