Hey,
I'm currently living in Karlsruhe (Germany), studying Computer Science.
When I'm not busy learning for the tests I'm working with Amnesty International, feeding my fellow students with delicious cakes and sometimes just take a walk in the city. In summer I enjoy the fact that I'm living in the part of Germany with the highest density of lakes :)
When I'm spending an evening at home I'm nearly always busy doing some small crafts. Be it origami, chain maille, knitting... Everything gets tried at least once.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In the last winter semester I had two girls from Russia living in my flat. Once they returned home they spontaneously invited me and I spent two weeks on the most awesome trip ever. I guess that finally got me out of my shell and I'm looking for more of that.
Just meeting nice people, having talks with locals and offering nice conversation, baked goods and whatever else.

Music, Movies, and Books

Starting with the easiest ones: favourite books.
My favourite author is Terry Pratchett. His books taught me a lot about life and how to live it, what person I want to be. I'm forever grateful for that. Also, "Good Omens" by him and Neil Gaiman is one of the most perfect books ever written.
Another great author is Patrick Rothfuss. If you haven't read his Kingkiller chronicles yet wait a few years until you start. He's still writing the third one (and will do so for years, probably). If you don't start reading now the wait will be shorter and less torturous for you. But read it.

Favourite movies are a bit harder. The Lord of the Rings will always take one of the top spots for me. I guess I don't have to say much about that. Other than that I'm always in for Disney movies, some action movies, whatever. I also really like movies/ series the likes of The Matrix, Who am I and Mr Robot.

For music... Well, I guess everything. From Hans Zimmer over to Nightwish, Woodkid and Wagner, I'm in. Just give me your best.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Paragliding. Try it if you can. Seriously. It's one of the most amazing feelings ever.
Night train to Moscow, making friends with an old lady without being able to exchange a word.

I am willing to teach every single one of my hosts how to juggle with 3 balls. Impress your friends with newfound abilities!
I might also try and explain every little thing about computer science if you are interested (be careful what you ask for!)
