Hi I'm Vicky. I graduated from Sheffield university in England in July and after working to save some money I am spending the year travelling.
I've just spent 3 months travelling South East Asia. Now me and my friend Tom are driving round America (and hopefully a little of Canada) in a campervan. We're travelling from the end of June to mid September and we're really keen to Couchsurf along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've couchsurfed twice and both times were really great experiences.
Once was in Summer 2011 with my friend, we stayed with a host in Vienna for 2 nights which was great fun as she showed us all the bits of Vienna you wouldn't discover as a tourist.

The other time was April 2013, while on a hitchhiking competition from England to Lithuania. Me and my friend stayed with a friendly host in Warsaw, who was very helpful and kind to let us stay for a night on our trip!

I find Couchsurfing always gives you great stories, a different take on a country and hopefully a new friend!

Interests

Me and Tom are both very passionate about travelling and getting great experiences out of it.
Tom really enjoys watching historical documentaries, sport and Louis Theroux documentaries. He is also keen to learn more about photography.
I enjoy running and have recently taken an interest in cooking to go along with my long time love of baking! I took 2 cooking classes in South East Asia which I found really insightful and enjoyable.

Music, Movies, and Books

Me and Tom both have very similar tastes.
We are both big Arcade Fire fans and Tom loves Bright Eyes, while I am a big fan of Bon Iver. I've been to a lot of music festivals in England, I especially enjoyed Glastonbury and would love to go to Coachella one day.

We both really love the Before Sunrise trilogy and 500 days of summer. I also really like Wes Anderson movies.

I am currently reading A Farwell to Arms and really rate American literature. We are big fans of The Great Gatsby

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As part of our university me and Tom both participated in a hitchiking race to Lithuania (from England) to raise money for charity. It was a real adventure and was a great way to get to know people who had been kind enough to give you a lift/a place to stay.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Me and Tom are good company and we have lots of travel stories to share! We really enjoy new experiences and love meeting new people.
