I recommend south central area near savassi where you can take transportation to anywhere around. It is defenetly nice. Neighbourz around nicest nearest first:savassi sao Pedro, santo Antônio, funcionários, sion, Anchieta, cruzeiro, Lourdes, cidade jardim, sao bento, santo Agostinho, there are more but in my opinion these are the nicest on the best central-south location. Check this area on street view you can start with "savassi". Pampulha is a touristic spot also nice but far away from this area but there are executive and normal buses to go there both are Ok.
Have a good one!

What's do you looking for? Depends where do you do something here. If you like pub's stay near to downtown maybe stay at Funcionários and Savassi.

I am going to be traveling to Bahia in the next couple of days! Anyone know of the best way to get there and places to stop in between? What places in the north should I visit? Any and all advice is appreciated!!

Bahia is a very huge state. My favorite places there are: Costa do Sauípe, Imbassaí, Praia do Forte, Chapada Diamantina (amazing), and Salvador of course!

Diane, I'm planning a trip to Bahia too! which will be the dates in which you'll be there? I've made a plan to see the south coast, from Trancoso all the way up to Salvador. Many beautiful beaches in that area

I heard that there's a lot of great outdoor sport climbing in and around Belo Horizonte. Does anyone here climb or know of any companies that arrange trips to go climbing outdoors?
Guilherme de Faria , Belo Horizonte, BRA, 2 months ago
Hi Vanss I have a friend that every week climbs outdoor. He use to climb on Parque do Sumidouro. If you want to train indoor so I suggest "Rokaz". If you want to know more about it feel free to send me a message. See you!

Ouro preto is so beautiful. Thanks for the information.
By the way, you know how to get campo grande from belo horizonte by bus?
ISABELLE MALUF FERNANDES , , BRA, about 1 month ago
Oh, Campo Grande to BH - You can go with Bus (it's very far) or Airplane.
We don't have train.
In BH you have to see Pampulha and Belvedere of Mangabeiras.
Nearby you definitely have to go to Inhotim, and Ouro Preto.

Hi Daniel... You can running in "Lagoa da Pampulha", a lake at Pampulha (Belo Horizonte - MG). You can running also in "Lagoa Seca" at Belvedere (Belo Horizonte-MG). In other states as Rio de Janeiro, you can in "Calçadão d Copacabana" at Copacabana (Rio de Janeiro-RJ).
Thats it! I hope have to help! =)

The major places you can go for a run are:
'Lagoa da Pampulha' has a nice track about 18k long. Kind of a family place with a nice lake, lots of bikes also, and really nice view at some spots.
'Lagoa Seca' is located at a upper class neighborhood, you will run literally in the street - the locals are used to it and the traffic is really polite, giving passage and maintaining distance from the runners - and you can choose from a wide range of "routes", distances and hills, or just run kind of in a freestyle mode. High concentration of beautiful people with toned bodies - reason why some choose to run there, a little intimidating to others, who say "you gotta get in shape first, and than be able to run there".
'Avenida Bandeirantes - Praça JK' another local favorite route, at weekends. Not sure how long it is, but you run at a busy commercial avenue to a small park with a short but pavemented track. Many options of natural juices, foods and 'açaí' to have when finished running.
And many others... Almost every region in the city has some avenue used as a spot for runner, usually with lots of trees (a must, due to heat and sun light) and at least a 1k distance, and various runners doing laps at night during the week, and in the morning at weekends.
www.instagram.com/lucasvilas - Check my Instagram, and you will see me running in all places mentioned above.
