Hello! :-) This is Elisabet (Barcelona) and Alex (Germany)

We are a young couple in love. In love with each other and of course in love with the world!

Since some years we have been spending our vacations trying to get a hint of what is there on the world to discover but in a very basic way. We don't have big expectations, we don't plan much neither have a tight schedule, we enjoy going to unknown places and get to know it's local people, ask them about their thoughts and fears, what moves them, while we might share a ride, walk their streets or eat their most regular but unique local food ( vegetarian only haha :P), in few words: enjoying the little and more special things.

Our journey this summer 2015 started in Saint Petersbrurg, then hitchhiked until Moscow where we started our journey through southern Siberian following the transiberian railway until Ulan-Ude. Then by bus until Ulan-bator.. in Mongolia we'll stay our last week, before we head back to Irkutsk to fly back home :-(! So far we still need a host in Ulan-Ude and Ulan- bator....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We met each other on a Couchsurfing meeting in Brussels. For the both of us Couchsurfing has been a way to get to know interesting people where you life and while travelling.

Interests

One could say that one of our big attributes as a couple is the big passion for travelling... It is because at some point we deared saying, let's DO IT, that we asked a total stranger for the first time if we could give us a ride, and this way we travelled from germany to bulgary, throughout 10 diferent countries!

Today we are proud to say that, YES! it is possible, and it only depends on you, in how much your willing to get out of that damn comfort box... hahaha!
So far we have mostly experiencied the following:

- Hitchhiking
- Wild/Urban Camping
- sleeping/eating at total stranger places
- spending a night inside a truck
- Eating all sorts of local food
- Getting to know the 'real' face of cities and cultures
- walking, walking much! :P
- eating peoples lefts overs in Oslo's Ikea..

Furthermore and more on personal level... we try to deal with the difficulties of having a long distance relationship and fulfilling our personal academical and professional lifes always having our goals clear :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When we tell people how much we have seen and how much we have spent doing it they just can't believe it. We are happy to be the proof that it is possible to see the world and getting to know amazing people without spending a fortune.
