Hi! I am 90% certain I will be traveling Oct14-Oct18 to Quito and really enjoy driving in foreign countries! Is there a rental car company to stay away from? I was looking at Thrifty? It's roughly $35/day including insurance for a little tiny chevy spark. I will be heading west from Quito chasing waterfalls.

Andres Velastegui Carrillo , Quito, ECU, about 2 months ago

Hey man most of the companies will have the same prices.. The one you pick the spark it's a good option low gas consumption it's not a 4x4 tho but it will be useful in ready roads

Carolina Solano , Quito, ECU, about 2 months ago

Thrifty it is of my friend it is very good company ..

Paola Morán , Quito, ECU, about 2 months ago

I agree with my friend Andres Velastegui, is good car

Hi!
My sister and I are planning to spend a week in Ecuador. We will mostly be in Quito, but are also planning on going to Baños as well.
I have celiac disease and have to eat gluten free. No wheat, rye, or barley.
Does anyone know how hard it will be to purchase gluten free food there?
I am trying to decide how much gluten free food to pack. Any help would be appreciated!
Muchas Gracias!
Ashley

Hey Ashley, it is quite dificult to find food free of wheat. Depends more in your diet. If you eat more ecuadorian food (almuerzos) it is eaiser. YOU have that in any restaurant. But if u want to buy bread or eat pizza or pasta it gets complicated.
Better go to organic restaurants. The trip it is only a week so tiem will run fast :)

Hi Ashley,

The message above is the truth. The food used to have gluten here, therefore I recommend you buy and eat fruits. Also some soups may be a option. At the "SuperMaxi" market you can find many options without gluten.

You can take a Bus directly to Baños at the Bus Station called "Quitumbe", you dont need buy it somedays before, you can buy at this moment.

Good Luck!

This week I'll arrive at the international airport in Quito. What's the best way to go to the city center from the international airport? Or is there a website for public transportation in quito? I need to be near the Plaza Grande Station of the Trolebus.

  • transportation
  • quito
  • airport

Thanks Mauri, saw your message too late. Already arrived. Yesher helped me very good: "But I think the best way to get from Quito’s Mariscal Sucre International Airport to Downtown Quito (Centro) is to take the $2.00 USD green bus. It goes from Quito Airport to the Rio Coca bus station where you can easily transfer onto the Metrobus to the HISTORIC OLD TOWN , (Plaza Grande) or cab it from there to your hotel. It’s a 30-45 minute journey depending on traffic, and takes just as long as a taxi cab." thanks yesher!!
