Tehran is an exotic metropolis that has the ability to shatter expectations of Middle Eastern life. Skirted by the lush Alborz mountains to the north and dry desert to the south, Tehran gives visitors a chance to see many natural landscapes and a beautiful city all at once. Enjoy some local cuisine in one of Tehran’s many trendy cafes or restaurants, and relax in a teahouse for a defining Middle Eastern experience.

There are so many things to see in the city, like the towering Milad Tower, the ornate Golestan Palace, the colorful Tabiat Bridge, and the uniquely-designed Azadi Tower. And when you’ve seen enough concrete, take a short trip to the north of the city to the hillside village of Darband. There, you can browse a local market, kick back in a hookah lounge, and begin an adventure on the popular hiking trails of Mount Tochal.
