Hello!!, I have a question... Does anyone know how much a person can spend per month on transportation? Thankss!!

Chris O'Connor , Moscow, RUS, 2 months ago

It depends where you live, and where you want to get to.

For instance - I live in the city centre, and work about 9 miles out of the centre. I could get 2 buses each way, so 4 round trip, and spend god knows how much on a month bus pass. But I get the train, and cycle the rest of the way, which costs me no more than £12 a week, and that's assuming I go to work for a whole 7 days!

it depends what public transport you want to use and how often. the nest place to work it out is here:

anymore help you need, let me know.

Dear All,
I will visit England for 2 weeks .i will go to London and Birmingham. I have mobile phone but without sm (phone line) . where can i buy one?, how much ? and which is the best company?
Thank you for your replay in advance .

Suki , Birmingham, GBR, 2 months ago

You can buy a sim card from almost everywhere.. best place would be poundland.. Best network depends on whether u will be calling to countries outside uk.. then u are better off with lebara or lycamobile,

Elizabeth Wilk , Paris, FRA, 2 months ago

O2 is a really good compagny. You can ask for an internationan call sim (or ask for other options). if your current phone is already unblocked you can have the sim for 10 with a lot of time. if it isn't unblocked you can ask for it and it costs about 10 too!
(If I told you this, it is because it is what I just got and I find it is a very good deal!)
Have a nice stay! :)

Hola Daniel,

Well, let me tell you, I know 2 places where people here use to go running:

1. located in Edgbaston: the Edgbaston reservoir ,is very common to see people running here!, I also use to go there.
2. located in hamsted Hill, there is a big park called Perry Hall.

Hope will be useful for you this information,

Wilmer.

People of Birmingham!

A friend of mine and me are planning to go on a trip in a week to Birmingham and we thought we could maybe rent a bike somewhere quite cheap to ride a bit on the countryside. Do you have any ideas where the best place for this would be?

Cheers

Hi guys!

I will be moving to Birmingham early december and I am looking for a cool place to live. I would prefer to live a bit more alternatively than your everyday buy/rent accomodation. Does anyone has any good tips?
Also, if you know anyone who is letting a nice place for one tennant (studio/flat), advice would be great.
I am a theatre/politics professional, who is very sociable, creative and up for a laugh :)

Thanks!

Jorine

Hi Jorine,

On the face of it I would suggest looking into the following areas:

Moseley - village vibe. Creative people tend to circulate here. Fairly expensive.
Kings Heath - cheaper slightly grittier alternative to Moseley.
Stirchley - grittier still, but cheap and 'up and coming' apparently. Small creative community and benefits from a train station (Bournville)

In terms of city centre I would look into Digbeth or the Jewellery Quarter.

there was a similar discussion a few days ago. with most neighborhoods offering different things to different people, it's very personal and one's suggestion could be your miss.
try the CS accomedation page, http://www.spareroom.co.uk/ ,

http://www.gumtree.com/ ,
zoopla.co.uk
and google.co.uk for agents
good luck, that's all i got :)
