Hi! I'm thinking much about my Erasmus exchange (I'm planning to go somewhere for one semester in 2015, but I'll have to register and choose the uni in Semptember 2014, so I'm starting the research now) and I'd like to ask you about the costs of living in Munster (renting a room/dorm, transport, food, etc.) I'd be really glad for any piece of advice! And I'd like to know a bit about the city itself: is it a good idea to come here for one semester? Are there any interesting things to see, places to go? How about the trips to other German cities/ neighbouring countries? You can PM me if you like. :)

Rents here are pretty expensive, something around 300€ for a room shared apartment (maybe something less, maybe some euros more) is the avarage I guess. But with the university ticket you get free transport in the whole state for the whole semester, so you can go to Düsseldorf, Cologne and even the Netherlands. I think MS is a great city to spend some months, as it is not that big and pretty beautifull and also there are a lot of Erasmus students around. Hope that helps you somehow

Ya my cousin is studying there too, he says that its still cheaper than living in Cologne or Dusseldorf. By the way u have a good connection like Bastian already said, but trust me, u wouldnt use it that much, cause Munster offers u alot!
One semester is totaly okay in Munster, when u think about the prices u pay in other citys and what they have. Munster is a little bit alone, and it takes about 30-40mins to come to the Ruhrgebiet where one big city is stuck to the next one.
Still u will love the people there, everytime i go to munster i meet at least one new person, they are so open minded and very tolerant (maybe because there ar that much students around)
Otherwise i would suggest Hamburg, when ur lucky u get a pretty cheap room there. But its far away from other citys and places, even tho u dont need it cause Hamburg is huge. Or try Frankfurt oder Munich, but these citys are very expensive, but studying in Frankfurt brings u alot of advantage in the international market.
But all in all, i believe that Munster or the Ruhrgebiet are the best choises someone can make if u want to have a new adventure.
Sry for my bad english.

Dear my CSer friends,
I would like to visit Münster and cycle there.
Is there possibility to rent bike there? From where? How? How much?
Anja Fischer , Münster, DEU, 2 months ago
it's about 9 Euro/day
Münster Marketing made a great overview with prices and infos.
You need someone to accompany you and show you round? Will be back to MS in February... Might be late for you, no?
I can warmly recommend the nature protection area called Rieselfelder!

Hey, du you have a Racebike? In Münster are a lot of Bycicle Racers. I train every Sunday in Münster Mecklenbeck there is a Traininggroup with about 60-80 Cyclists. There you can cycle on Saturday to.
In the Sommer you can ride on Tuesday and Thursday with a cool Group by Ackermann in Münster Roxel.
ou can contact me if you wish more Infos ;)

I'm planning to do a pretty large bike trip next summer and I'm wondering if anyone knows places in Münster where I can learn bike repair or get access to tools/equipment to practice at a cheap price.
P.S. If you've ever done a long bike tour (~1000 km+) and want to chat, please shoot me a message.
Nächster Sommer möchte ich eine lange Reise mit dem Fahrrad fahren. Ich suche jetzt einen günstigen Laden, wo ich Fahrräder zu reparieren lernen oder einen Platz reparieren zu üben könnte.

There's a free-for-all Fahrradwerkstatt in JiB/Gleis 22, Hafenstraße 34. From their description:
"Hier kannst Du Dein defektes Fahrrad reparieren. Der Fachmann gibt Tipps und Ratschläge, wie es geht. Wir haben sowohl neue als auch gebrauchte Ersatzteile parat. Die Werkstatt wird in Kooperation mit dem AStA der Uni Münster durchgeführt."

Try Lila Leeze, Dortmunder Straße 11. I´ve been there once, and it was a good experience. I was just looking for a spare part. But think, I saw, you could also do your own stuff there.

I am going to come back to my hometown Münster for Christmas and I would love to dance some Salsa during these days. I'm not a professional at all, but it is always great fun. Anyone in for the 23rd in Cuba Nova, for instance?

I´ll be there as well tomorrow. Nice location. It´ll be fun!

Hi beautiful CSers,
I’m Kirbanu, an Australian folk/pop songwriter touring with my new album Drifting through Germany.
I'm looking for either tips on acoustic friendly music venues to perform at and/or to hear from anyone who may be interested in hosting a living room concert.
I perform a lot of living room concerts. I love them as they fit so well to my music style, which is warm, sensitive and beautiful. Something that is really important for me when I play a show is to create an intimate connection to my audience.
If you are curious, here’s a live video from a recent show in Mannheim:
And here’s one from a CS Living Room concert that I did in Konstanz:
So, if you know of any venues that may fit my style, or if you are interested in hosting a living room concert, then I’d love to hear from you.
