Hello everyone! I am looking for nice cheap restaurants in the center of Mannheim. I am staying in Mannheim for one month since now with my boyfriend and we love to eat fresh and simple. We like vegetarian cuisine though we are not vegetarians. Any tips from the locals or more experienced than us? Thank you very much! I will pay you back while you being in Prague, my hometown! :-)

Hey, I really recommend the restaurant "Vienna". Its cheap, fresh and delicious. http://www.cafevienna.de/

I really recommend the Kombüse (https://www.facebook.com/Kombuese.Mannheim?fref=ts), there are a lot of vegan and vegetarian things :)

Pasam at Markt Platz. Nice turkish restaurant. More original than the ones ve tried. You have to try their "Mericmek Corbasi" - Lentils soup. They make really good pizzas too.

Hii!!

I wanna go for sushi today with my friends to celebrate my bday and I don't know which sushi restaurant is the best one with quality-price related. I went to the one in Hauptrasse which is called sayuki I think and i saw one in the street from Vetters but i never stopped to see the price.

Any advices?

Hey Cova! I know your birthday is already over but just in case you didn't find what you expected - I like to eat in the Sakura Sushibar - pretty good quality and the price is okay (sushi is alsways not that cheap). Otherwise you can try to find your favorite restaurant in Mannheim, like the Tokyo sushi-bar (more expensive), or Kaoru; ooor you chose an all-you-can-eat Asian buffet with Sushi in it, f.e. "The East." Btw my birthday is on the same day like yours and I went for Sushi at the Sakura bar that day:D

Talking of Mannheim, you may also want to try Osaka. I had Teppanyaki (Menu Osaka) and I loved it. So it's just a guess that sushi there would be good as well.

Hi guys,
I would love some advice on nice and cozy restaurants and cafes,
thank you,
Marija

Hi Marija,

There are many cozy cafes and restaurants around old town.

However, there is one rooftop bar I recommend. It is not far from old town. 10 minutes walk tops. It opens at 6pm.

Hi Marija,

I love good food, so maybe my recommendations will help you to find the right place to eat or drink.

My favorite restaurant in Heidelberg (food-wise) is "Oskar" in the old town area. http://www.oskar-hd.de/

Another fantastic place is the roof-top area of the "Qube Hotel restaurant" near Bismarckplatz. Not the cheapest option, but great view and even better food.

A great place for enjoying a good glass of wine (or more) from a huge menu is "Hugo's Wine & Dine" located in Heidelberg Weststadt. http://hugo-hd.de

Have a great time in Heidelberg and let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi,

I'd need to get some literature/references for my bachelor thesis, so I'm planning to go to the medical library/university library.
Does anybody know if I can just go there and dig through all the books or do I need to be a medical student or something? I don't even want to borrow the books, I'm just gonna sit there and read and work.

Thanks for advice!

Kai Vogel , Mannheim, DEU, 2 months ago

As a visitor you can go there and read and make copies but you won't be allowed to take books home - you can only do that if you're a student or staff at the University Hospital of Mannheim. Here's a link for when it's open:
http://www.umm.uni-heidelberg.de/bibl/ (don't worry it says Heidelberg but it's the timetables of the one in Mannheim)

Okay thanks a lot that's all I need! :)
Am I dreaming, are they really open till midnight on weekdays??

Hallo everyone! I just came to heideleberg and i wonder if anyone has some recommendations for me to play street music apart from Hauptstrasse? My instrument is not so loud so I'm thinking if there is something like a closed tunnel with a good flow of people? thank you for any suggestions :)
