Hi everybody... I'm an erasmus student in Aarhus and I'm looking for a club where I can listen to reggae music or a place where there is dancehall. does someone know something about it?

DITTE CECILIE , Horsens, DNK, 2 months ago

My poor husband Suji came to Denmark from South Africa to stay with me and he is dying for some reggae and dancehall - we are in!

We can always take a trip to the donky club in CPH..

Reggae is not as big in Aarhus as it have been. But the good old Aarhus based reggae group in Århus is having their 9 years anniversary on the 1st of april
here is the facebook event https://www.facebook.com/events/1613922592171936

Its going to be the first of a serie of parties called TINGALING, so keep updated on kali-ma's facebook page for more parties coming up

Hej, my friend is coming to visit me next weekend (06.03.2015) and we would like to go in a club/disco/bar with some dancehall, r´n´b, reggea or hiphop music...
Do you have an idea where we could go?
You´re also all invited to come with us and celebrate her birthday :)

Hej Århus!

I'm planning a little tour in the Nordic countries this coming summer (your summer, that is), and I'll be passing through Århus in late June. Most places seem to like a few months notice, so I've got to get asking soon, but I don't know who to ask, so I need some local advice on music venues...where do you go out of a weekend to see live music? I'm after places like pubs, bars, cafes, etc. Somewhere where people will be going to anyway, NOT theatres or halls that I'd have to hire out, as it's too financially risky in these early stages of my career while I'm currently relatively unknown...

Thanks in advance!

Jesse

Hi Jesse

Try this link:

http://live-koncerter.dk/koncerter-i-aarhus

It shows upcoming live-concerts in Aarhus. The site is in danish, but it's quite easy to understand even.

The three columns shows
1) the date
2) name of band
3) The venue where the concert is held.

And on the far right is has a list of venues in Aarhus. That couyld be a start for you to check out :-)

Besides the ones on the site, you could try the bar called Waxies, they have a lot of live-music.

Cheers

Hej Andreas,

Thanks for the recommendations. I'll be sure to check that site out. I like the name "Waxies" as well. Very cute.

Thanks again!

Hi! Check out Fairbar in Aarhus which is a non-profit café/bar in the city centre. Their page is in Danish, but here is an email to write to if you want to play your music there: musik@fairbar.dk

Good luck!

Hello,
I'm a French Travel Blogger (www.716lavie.com) and I promote places speaking about food and culture.
I have just arrived in AArhus and don't have much time here; if you would like to share with me your favourite local spots regarding food, bars or culture, it would be great!
I don't need expensive food, I want friendly places with quality food, simple or fancy, whatever.
Tak!
Guillaume

Are you still in town?

ditte Ernst , Aarhus, DNK, 2 months ago

Hi Guillaume.

You should visit Gastromé in Aarhus- they just got a Michelin star :) And visit Aros and the rainbow on the top of the museum.

I personally like Mackie's, very chill place :)

Hello All!

In August, I'll be moving to Åarhus to study at the Royal Academy of Music.

I have a question that I can't seem to get answered...

Are there any squash courts in Åarhus?

Thank you for your time and I look forward to seeing you all!

Best,

-Eric

Irene Ortega , , DNK, about 2 months ago

Hi Eric! I'm not playing in Aarhus but I know some people who live there and they play in Lystrup (not the closest one but it's an option). Skovbakken is another one I hear often.

(I thought I had seen your name somewhere and I just realised we messaged about squash in cph a while back. I'm living in Jutland now so maybe we can even play sometime ;) )

MISS TOURISTE , Aarhus, DNK, 2 months ago

Hi Eric,
I know there is at Risskov (look for skovbakken) and there should be as well in Viby.
Have fun :)

I'm looking for a student job in Aarhus, and since it is not easy, I thought to check if someone is interested in learning Arabic, or even practicing if they have background. I can offer some cheap lessons.

Nehal Elsherif , London, GBR, 2 months ago

No one?

Anna Bacher , Aarhus, DNK, 2 months ago

I am!!!
Very interested!
Which type of arabic do you teach?
I have travelled Morocco, so I know some words and grammar from there, although I am aware that it is very different from standard arabic.

next year I will go to Lebanon for exchange, so I would like to focus on this dialect or standard arabic, so I can use it there.
My number is 21804925. :)
